We know Holland is just across the North Sea but sometimes it’s just great to meet up with others that have ventured over to the UK for whatever reason and made it home.

We meet up for regular coffee mornings and weekend events…we don’t always wait for the next Dutch celebration!

De Hollanders was started in 2007 after Saskia who was living in Calne met with a few other Dutch natives! Everyone seemed to know at least two other Dutch people and a group was soon formed.

Keeping a note of names and connections down the list grew larger enough to suggest a gathering. The first buffet of tasty Indonesian food was a great success with over 35 adults attending.

Since then we have had a regular flow of enquiries through word of mouth and sites such as www.meetup.com. We have had many more events since including Queens day, Koninginne dag, 30th of April 2008 followed by Sinterklaas (St Nicolas) in December 2008. With St Nicolas arriving on a real old fashioned red Harley Davidson, instead of his usual white horse.
